Rainbows-in defense of

I used to collect anything rainbow, and I had a huge rainbow poster on my ceiling. I had my mom and dad paint my walls royal blue to go with that poster. I was 15, and I'd do it today, and I am 47.

I had a rainbow t-shirt, with the sleeves the rainbow part, and the shirt area, the top of the rainbow, you've seen them. I had rainbow earrings, rainbow thread, rainbow sheets, even brown rainbow sheets. I had rainbow stickers on my car and on my notebook. I cross stitched rainbows, I needle pointed rainbows. Everything I had was rainbows.

I am macremaing a rainbow variegated hemp bracelet t.It is so pretty, how the colors fade in and out, in the rainbow shades, and how the other colors show through the knots. It's so pretty, it doesn't need beads. But the right bead would be awesome on this rainbow...colored...thread....... .....

That I saw on my beloved ETSY, made into several hemp bracelets, for... GAYS. Labeled as such. Don't get my wrong, I have a few gay friends. I love men, I'm not gay, and the gay story line in Gray's Anatomy is almost sickening, but Liz on Nip-Tuck is cool. I love rainbows. WTF....If I wear this bracelet, people will believe I'm G A Y. To me, that's SICK, cause I'm not, and never will be. But the thread is so pretty. The thread makes me think of the Grateful dead. Not a gay person. So, don't take away my rainbows, cause you are gay. And don't think I am gay, cause I wear something green, yellow, blue, purple, red, whatever.

I'm finishing this bracelet...mabye I should make a few and market them, "In defense of the rainbow."

Thank you for reading my blog, your visit and comments are much appreciated.

Don't worry about the bracelet or if people think you are gay. Only you knows who "you" is!

Either way is fine in this world of equality. Hate needs to go away.

Hey, you can think of it as support for the gay community. Though I am not gay either, I am related to a few, love them deeply and dearly, and find them stronger, smarter, and more intelligent than many "straights".

Who care's as long as there is love and peace?

I totally agree! I used to LOVE rainbows (and still do) and it makes me ill that the symbol of God's love (and nature's beauty) has been coopted by a "movement".

I totally agree, I'm not against gay guys. But, I just wish that in 2009, the symbol was not mistakened as such.
